Details
New album by Country Teasers frontman B.R. Wallers. Responsible for over 30 albums as both The Rebel and Country Teasers, his satirical and literary skill combined with a singular experimental pop sensibility have seen him often compared to Mark E. Smith. With echoes of The Residents and Wendy Carlos, this is The Rebel's most diaristic and introspective album ? a slow-burning attack on British heritage pop-culture, featuring interpolations of The Cure, The Beatles, Joy Division and others in collision with The Rebel's original experimental synth and guitar brilliance ? all under-pinned by his songs' characteristic 'wrongness'...Check out the marvellous 'Dave on Tour' ? sung from the perspective of Pink Floyd, trying to deal with their hatred of Dave Gilmour ? and 'Mouthwatering Claustrophobic Changes', with its interpolation of 'Tomorrow Never Knows'. There are no records by The Rebel or Country Teasers that do not reflect Wallers' genius. This release follows Country Teasers' latest album W.O.A.R. (Holy Mountain Records, 2009) and Junior Aspirin Records' release of The Rebel - 'Prawns' in 2004. 500 only!
