**FREE SAMPLER ASK YOUR REP**Often referred to as Sub Pop’s “sister label,” Hardly Art is an offshoot of Sub Pop designed to spotlight emerging talent. With the goal of cultivating a stable of vital, young, and relatively undiscovered bands, Hardly Art has made a point over the past near-decade to survey the underground in Seattle and beyond and offer a platform to elevate new and developing artists. Current releases from the Hardly Art roster include the likes of Chastity Belt (Seattle), Shannon and the Clams (Oakland), Protomartyr (Detroit), Colleen Green (Los Angeles), La Luz (Seattle), and others, most of which will be touring through Europe and the UK this fall. Despite existing since the year 2007, Hardly Art had somehow previously avoided the dreaded physical format known as the sampler. That is, until now! We are hereby pleased to present the Sampler Thing Vol. 1, an inaugural CD that comprises eight tracks from the newest and brightest of our current roster.
