In partnership with seminal punk label Touch & Go Records, we are re-issuing for the first time in 25+ years the full discography of punishing Michigan hardcore punk blues band Laughing Hyenas, remastered from the original analog tapes by Bob Weston. Formed in the mid 80s wreckage of American punk and hardcore, Laughing Hyenas were comprised of staples of the Detroit punk scene, including John Brannon (Negative Approach) and Larissa Strickland (L Seven) along with the locked-in rhythm section of Kevin Strickland and Jim Kimball. Groundbreaking, game-changing and some of the scariest records to come out of Detroit...or anywhere. The Hyenas travelled to Smart Studios in Wisconsin to record Merry Go Round, marking the start of a creative partnership with producer/engineer Butch Vig that would result in three of the most groundbreaking, game changing and scariest records to ever come out of Detroit...or anywhere. BONUS: "Soul Kiss" - originally on tape version (first time on vinyl) "Candy" - 7" b-side "Dedications to the One I Love" (live) "Don't Bouge My High" (live) "Public Animal #9" - from Sub Pop single club 7"
