NOW SIGNED TO ROUGH TRADE, SO OBV WILL BE NEXT YEARS NEXT BIG THING..HOWEVER..THIS ALBUM IS AN ABSOLUTE CLASSIC, DONT CHASE AMBULANCES, BUY THIS! One of the hottest debuts in many years, In The Red does it again, Nuggets flauntin Texan punksters the Strange Boys release their first full length. Austin, TX's The Strange Boys evoke a wild-eyed, porcelainskinned innocence that is capable of summoning the wayward spirit of Brian Jones. The mystery of the South couples with the mastery of rhythm to create a sound completely timeless and familiar, yet absolutely raw and avant-garde. Greg Enlow's syncopated, organ-driven grooves hark back to The Seeds pushing too hard while guitarist Ryan Sambol's voice wavers beyond comparison. Older brother Philip Sambol keeps the pulse with the aptly named Matt Hammer, who unmercifully pounds an old Ludwig set.

Details

"Echoes of Syd Barrett and early Floyd bounce about this eclectic collection, which on one hand is ambient and trippy and then on the other, quirky, and a touch dark and twisted. But such superlatives shouldn't detract from the quality of this musical menagerie. Definitely not for the main stream, but if you like your music ? and life for that matter ? off kilter and imaginative, then this is right up your street." MUSIC-NEWS.COM The cat is out of the bag?the debut album from Giant Paw is here. Mixed by Kramer (of Bongwater /Shimmy Disc infamy). Featuring a selection of special guests, including a passing David Dondero (singer /songwriter and Team Love recording artist). Previous art print /limited edition CDs have had radio play from Tom Ravenscroft on Channel 4 Radio and John Kennedy on XFM. "Fx, feral electronics, tape manipulations and treated guitars abound in the promising, sweetly named headliners, whose woogly psych pop recalls Flaming Lips, Liars' less deranged moments, malevolent nursery rhymes and the output of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop." SHARON O'CONNELL ? TIME OUT The North London based Giant Paw are happy to announce the arrival of their inspired debut. After roaming various London venues, including the Buffalo Bar, Rough Trade Shop, the Heavenly Social and Barden's Boudoir the band are ready to unleash 'The Stars Are Ours'. "After littering the stage with terrifying monster masks they proceed to plough a musical furrow somewhere between early eighties no-wave and ninties rave (Neu Order anyone?). The results are literally astounding." CHANNEL4.COM
