**VINYL RE-PRESS** Only 20 years old when this was originally released, ?lafur arnalds hails from the suburban icelandic town, mosfellsb?r, just a few kilometers outside reykjav?k. combining classical instrumentation with a raw indie aesthetic, his music fits into the erased tapes catalogue like a piece of a jigsaw puzzle. his debut album 'eulogy for evolution' takes the listener on a journey, representing different periods in life, from birth to death. he delicately sculptures each of his own epic, string-laden compositions from beginning to completion. the record has been highly praised by the media and music fans in iceland and has already created quite a buzz around europe and even japan. besides his solo project, ?lafur also plays drums in two hardcore bands. he recently supported american indie-rock band cursive (saddle creek) on a german tour. despite the vast musical differences of the two bands, the tour was successful, and the audiences really enjoyed the unexpected, slow building and hauntingly melodic chamber music. there are also plans for a uk tour with fellow icelanders m?m. this release introduces erased tapes' fusion of traditional and contemporary formats, with a free download code which allows the purchaser of the vinyl to be able to get the whole album digitally for no extra cost. beautifully presented artwork typifies all the releases - creating a unique platform for the label roster and its cinematic music on a giant scale.

Forte got a mere handful of the MLP, and distroed the Hozac 7", those tracks are boosted onto the mini LP to create a debut album of sorts from Bisbee, Arizona's Francis Harold & The Holograms, tastefully sleeved in a fancy digipak: ..our jaws are still shattered and on the floor, its records like this that give the US Underground a good name? but this is the kind of record that pretty much blows nearly all else out of the water: its like the first time TAD's- Gods Balls twatted our tweeters, the first time Pissed Jeans webbed out our woofers, and when we first discovered the skronk-spazz of Wanghead, Scratch Acid, Samhain and Blood Circus all boiled into one exploding pussball. Nasty, horrible, dirgy, brilliant, red vinyl, scary lyrics?and the real grime under the fingernails of the US underground?.stick this in yr pipe and smoke it, well that's what we think, you might hate it?.

We've been sitting on this one so long it feels good to finally let it free like some doves at a wedding. You may know them from "Kill Bill" but let it be known that for many years prior the 5.6.7.8's toiled away in their own 1960's gold-glitter garage universe without the slightest notice from those outside a small circle of like-minded anoraks. That's why Third Man is overjoyed to reissue the self-titled LP from Japan's finest female garage rockers. As its first-ever domestic US release, this album is a long-time personal favorite of Jack White's and he's been known to break into "I Walk Like Jayne Mansfield" (a veritable classic included on this LP) without notice during White Stripes live performances. Couple that with impeccable covers of "Harlem Nocturne", "Long Tall Sally" as well other originals and what you get is as close to a modern garage "must-have" as there is. Third Man spared no expense with this project from the gold-foil embossing on the old-style, tip-on LP cover (something the band wanted on the original issue of the record but which was not feasible at the time)!Woo Hoo indeed...get involved!

Drakkar Sauna have released five full length records. Beginning with the Fugs-inspired diptych rover (2004) and drakkansasauna (2005), to their most recent: the Astronaut and alchemy concept album 20009 (2009) they have developed a musical abandon and lyrical facility admired in the oddest corners of our polyhedron. Songwriter Wallace Cochran is the author of the novel The Moon For Its Citizens (2009) and the director of the picture The Blood Feud (2003) in which multi-instrumentalist Jeff Stolz had a featured role and composed much of the score. For their Blue 45 Drakkar Sauna perform the original compositions Leave That Hole Alone which questions the existence of anything beyond the self, even the suffering of saints; and Brundlefly, My Chariot which drinks deep, so as to taste of the plasma spring. They are joined on this recording by frequent collaborator Jason Groth of the Bloomington, IN bands The Coke Dares and Magnolia Electric Co. Cochran and Stolz live and work in Lawrence, KS.
