Long overdue vinyl reissue of the last album from Mugstar, cut /pressed in Germany onto hi quality Audiophile 150gm vinyl, 1000 only being pressed: Mugstar are an instrumental rock band from Liverpool, England influenced by krautrock, 'saucerful...' era Pink Floyd, Neu!, Sonic Youth and Oneida. They have released a number of 7" records including a recent split with Mudhoney and were one of the last bands to have recorded a 'Peel Session' for John Peel. Mugstar maintain a power and heaviness and extending their musical manoeuvres and textures into new territories, the mantra-like effect driven with restraint, atmospheric shifts and verges on enlightenment and dark uneasiness. Mugstar are a total sonic assault on the senses, live shows are filled with black and white images flashed over the stages they play. Mugstar are to release a soundtrack album to the film 'Ad Marginem' and have a number of other releases confirmed through the label mid-late 2011.

BLASTED CANYONS is HEATHER FEDEWA, ADAM FINKEN and MATT JONES. Heather and Matt initially started the band to play an art opening at MoMa which ended with everyone getting kicked out. Matt met Adam handing out mushrooms on the 4th of July and together they convinced a crew of similarly fucked up strangers to light fireworks off the roof. Together, they round robin instruments and crush huge riffs, singalongs, caveman drums, and gooey synthesisers into thrashy wizard rock for weirdos that dig dorky shit but aren't total dorks about it. Their self titled debut was recorded with MATT HARTMAN (of HENRY' DRESS and SIC ALPS fame) and ERIC BAUER (who has helmed the boards for Ty Segall, Thee Oh Sees, and countless other San Francisco ne'er do wells) and carries the ramshackle blessing of being released on JOHN DWYER and BRIAN LEE HUGHES' Castle Face Records, with original art by Castle Face resident art-slayer WILLIAM KEIHN

VINYL FORMAT. Limited to 500 copies! Hailing from Gothenburg, Sweden, Spiders mix garage punk and early hard rock with bluesy melodies. The band is fronted by Ann-Sofie Hoyles - a female lead singer possessing an awesome voice with attitude. In addition to that we find guitarist John Hoyes (Witchcraft), drummer Axel Sjoberg (Graveyard), and bass player Matteo Gambacorta (Midwest) in the line-up. Spiders' songs reveal the bands incredible songwriting prowess and the music is full of energy and raw rock riffs. Packaged with signed and numbered silkscreen artwork by Alan Forbes.

Colbert goes garage goth! Paired with Third Man's spookiest band the Black Belles, Colbert takes lead vocals on this "Charlene II" and describes the numerous ways in which he's over his past infatuation. On the flip the Belles cover the 1980's classic (?) "Charlene (I'm Right Behind You)" originally by Stephen and the Colberts. It does not get better than this.
