FAR-OUT FANGTOOTH - 'PURE & DISINTERESTED'
Formats
SB149 - LP
655030114915
Details
Existing in the musty shadows of the Philly scene, Far-Out Fangtooth have built a most unique foundation of sound, mixing early Cramps swamp / garage blackout, nascent Bauhaus post-punk / quasi-goth bleakness as well as an uncanny nod to the witchy, ethereal leather glam of firstgeneration Blue ?yster Cult. Their debut LP, Pure & Disinterested, follows a limited- edition 7-inch for local label Ian! Records. In recent months, Far-Out Fangtooth has seen live action on bills with the likes of Times New Viking, Circle Pit, Blank Dogs and R. Stevie Moore. The band intends to launch a fullscale US tour to coincide with the release of Pure & Disinterested, so keep your eyes (and ears) peeled. Limited to 500 copies; features free download card.

THE BENT MOUSTACHE - 'PASTURES NEW SEASONS TURN'

Details
3 boys and a girl who combine an inclination for melodic post-punk pop with an art rock aesthetic borrowed from The Fall and Can mixed with the melodious pop sense of My Bloody Valentine. The Bent Moustache's second full length recording after 2007's 'Forst', is a socio-politically sharp and well articulated mix of art rock, shoegaze and electronica that engages both brain and booty. The live shows are an explosion of energy that have seen them create an expanding fanbase around Europe and the USA (Sebadoh invited TBM to open for them on their USA tour in 2007 and their European tour in 2008). 'Pastures New Seasons Turn' sees the band return to their finest with 10 tracks of pure gold laced with sweet boy/girl harmonies coupled to shimmering guitars ("Skip A Breath"), psychedelic folk plains ("Pastures New Seasons Turn"), postpunk and art rock action ("Hey Mate (I've Got Plenty To Spare))" and the glitch and burn of electronica ("The Sound Of Sirens") ?.a shoegaze, artrocker, electronica delight! All songs were written, recorded and mixed by Ajay Saggar, the brainchild of TBM. He has previously played in Dandelion Adventure and Donkey?both bands whom were championed by John Peel?.and for whom both bands recorded sessions. This album will come out on the bands own label "Wormer Bros. Records" on vinyl and CD.

INSANE CLOWN POSSE - 'LECK MICH IM ARSCH / MOUNTAIN GIRL'

Crikey, heres a match up we didnt see coming.....In the grand tradition of peanut butter meeting Iggy's chest or Bing Crosby getting down with David Bowie, Third Man Records is ecstatic to present the latest in a long-line of unexpected musical pairings?Insane Clown Posse and Mozart. Back in '82, ahem, 1782, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart wrote a piece that's been left out of the spotlight ever since. The title of the piece is "Leck Mich Im Arsch" or literally translated to English as "Lick me in the arse." Understandably this piece has figuratively been swept under the rug. So who better to give this piece it's due respect than the wildly successful, much misunderstood, and divisive Southwest Detroit rappers Insane Clown Posse? With fellow Southwest Detroit-born Jack White at the production helm and musical backing by Nashville's very own Jeff the Brotherhood, this 2011 version of "Leck Mich Im Arsch" marries Mozart's melody (and lyrics sung in operatic German) with ICP's poignant lyrical addition in English and Jeff the B's monster-riffs, letting the whole thing tie together in the most beautiful of ways. The b-side "Mountain Girl" finds Violent J and Shaggy 2 Dope telling tall tales about a shotgun wedding, meth problems and moonshine?all pretty common-fare for a twangy country song birthed in Nashville.

LANIE LANE - 'AINT HUNGRY / MY MAN'

Details
Lanie recently returned to her home town of Sydney, from Nashville, Tennessee where she recorded two tracks with Mr. Jack White. The songs will be released as part of the Blue Series. We're talking a release on 7" vinyl, 45 rpm, a Platters That Matters. The Blue Series has so far featured such diverse and quality artisans as Steven Colbert (a must have item), Seasick Steve, Black Milk and the 5,6,7,8's to name but a few. The single will feature two diversely different tracks, a fuzz bass sassed stomp number, 'Ain't Hungry' and a wailing, waltzing lament to withheld love, 'My Man'. In addition to being available at all good record stores, it will also be available on iTunes for those without turntables (but seriously, sort that out). "It was an honour to be asked by Jack to record with him at Third Man" says our Lanie. "I was so inspired by the whole process and by how raw and instinctively everything happened. I got so much out of the experience and I'm very proud of the end result." Ettes' drummer plays on the b-side, and thats a pretty good reference point...
