Details
For those swayed by the magisterial authenticity of Mount Carmel on their eponymous 2010 debut album: its follow-up Real Women finds the band honed and sharper, thus delivering what might be the best sophomore album released by an American blues-based power-trio since ZZ Top's Rio Grande Mud. Nods to Free, Humble Pie, even Trapeze can be sussed out in the mix, but at the end of the day, Real Women is straightup Mount Carmel all the way. Searing leads, smokey vocals, thundering rhythms, cascading drums, hyperbolic hyperbole... it's all here. Mount Carmel brings back the spirit of 1973 like no one else. The only difference now is better weed and shittier barbiturates. It's hands-down pure rock, no frills. Nary a retro contrivance is to be heard. These guys live it for real. Honest. So climb on board with Real Women and see what you've been missing. The results are astounding.

Details
EL GRAN CHUFLE is the mythical yeti like creature that haunts the mountainous environs near Santiago, Chile and fabled to have devoured many a tourist who has strayed from the path whilst in search of late night entertainment. It is also the name of the enigmatic new project of MEMO DUMAY (Panico, TRema). Enlisting a cast of mysterious collaborators from Chile, Australia, and Paris and utilizing a myriad selection of weird instruments: farfisa, theremin, xylophone, bass, drums and guitar, not to mention the sublime vocals of Georgina Treloar, the debut recording 'WAITECAS' comes to you here: a 9-track peculiar that features handcrafted surf-noir instrumentals, motorik outer-space improvisations, hypnotic dream pop grooves and acid-drenched easy-listening. Mixed by Acid Pauli of The Notwist. This is Morricone meets the B-52s in the studio with Conny Plank, a weird dream of gaucho's drinking root beer spiked with acid whilst masked wrestlers dance the tango through the flames. 'Waitecas' comes in a limited run of 300 LPs. El Gran Chufle play a launch party at The Old Blue Last, London on 20th March alongside BOOZE.
