“Out To Sea” is the most focussed of all Carlton Melton’s recordings to date: the voyage is long; the voyage is joyous. Leaving their geodesic dome behind, they hitched their magick karpet to San Francisco’s El Studio for a fried weekend in July 2014 with The Fucking Champs / Trans Am’s Phil Manley at the production helm and occasionally contributing to the furore. Phil Manley plays guitar on “Similarities” and synth on “Peaking Duck” Out To Sea sees Carlton Melton expanding their vision of the psychedelia and free outrock sound of their previous output and push to their furthest horizons using waves of sound - from huge pounding rhythms, outta space riffage, gentle synth wave-riding, pastoral passages, searing shards of molten guitar, smothered ambience and gentle flowing guitar picking – to lap at the shores of your senses. The Double LP version is coloured vinyl (one disc is blue/white - the surf and the other is transparent blue - out to sea!!!)   packaged in a deluxe gatefold / spot varnished sleeve with a CD copy of the album and a poster.. CD is in a CD digifile package CARLTON MELTON will be touring the UK / Europe in late september 2015, docking in Liverpool for a slot at the Psych fest.. Prior to forming Liquid Liquid in 1981, the band members were in two other groups: Liquid Idiot and Idiot Orchestra. While these ensembles sounded more experimental than groove-oriented, the beginnings of Liquid Liquid’s spatial / conceptual framework can be heard here. Liquid Idiot started at Rutgers University in the late ’70s and soon relocated to NYC where they performed at various lofts and clubs including Tier 3, Mudd Club and CBGB. The band even encouraged audience members to bring their own instruments to their early shows. Idiot Orchestra was an offshoot that included a dozen or more players (clarinet, sax, trumpet, violin, cello, synth, bass, marimba and drums) resembling a no wave version of Raymond Scott’s big band. As musician and artist Richard McGuire recalls, “We weren’t trying to sound like anyone. We weren’t imitating anyone. We were just playing. I keep using ‘outsider art’ as a reference to what we were doing. None of it was made for a market; it wasn’t made with any intention other than the enjoyment of making it.” This split archival LP collects two rare 7-inches from 1978 and 1980, both of which were originally pressed in hyper-limited editions and self-released by the bands. The package also features a fanzine of ephemera, rare photos and new interview with McGuire.

Cowboy Lovers is the dynamic duo, F. Pascual (Guitar / Vocals) & H. Bardisa (Drums / Vocals) from the Spanish costal town of Alicante. They first worked together as DJ's playing soul/rock/ punk/ garage and cosmic music around the discotheques and nightclubs / bars of their hometown, forming Cowboy Lovers in 2012. Theyimmediately began writing their own songs and performing in venues and festivals across Spain including Microsonidos (Murcia) and Low Festival (Benidorm). In 2014 their good friend, Todd Parmenter (Beatings uk) introduced them to the esteemed producer, Liam Watson who took it upon himself to produce and record the band’s debut LP at his TOE RAG STUDIO in London. During recording sessions a sort of "Cosmic Brotherhood" was formed between the band and Watson, the latter asking COWBOY LOVERS if they would be interested in being the 1st signing to his new TOE-RAG affiliated label, LBW RECORDS. A suitable agreement was made and COWBOY LOVERS are now ready to take on the world with a refreshing blend of proto-heavy-metal-rock-and-roll, Cosmic / Acid Gypsy and discotheque influences. Originally released in 1988, Dickcheese is an astonishing series of musical explosions, a barrage of metal, punk and sweet pop where most songs clock in under less than two minutes. Across a broad spectrum of genres it?s a release whose no holds barred rawness went on to influence many a band in Australia as well as internationally. The third release in the Decade of Rock series, Love Is A Battlefield Of Wounded Hearts is a Hard-Ons album choc-full of fan favourites: Don't Wanna See You Cry, Kill Your Mum, Missing You Missing Me and Rejected are just some of the sublime power-pop and punk masterpieces on this album. Clocking in at just around half-an-hour, the original LP was a concise exercise in explosive rock 'n' roll. Effortlessly moving from pure power-pop to thrash-metal, The Hard-Ons displayed unthinkable musical maturity while consigning themselves to eternal critical damnation with their outrageously uncompromising lyrics. Undaunted by a lack of local critical acclaim, The Hard-Ons took on the world again and took this album to top 5 in the New Musical Express charts in the UK, the only Australian band to attain that feat while still being based in Australia. A clear and brilliant antidote to their fun but shambolic debut LP Dickcheese, Love Is A Battlefield Of Wounded Hearts is now expanded to a full double CD set. In addition to the original album, remastered to great detail, and the related 7" releases from that era, are tracks salvaged from wonderful FM radio performances, demo versions, various live tracks and two full unreleased studio sessions - including a whole alternate album session that was initially rejected by Waterfront Records: a real train-spotter's delight. Also included is an extensive booklet are retrospective liner-notes and never-before-seen photographs from this era. The Hard-Ons have opened their attics for their fans. Encompassing the said album, the mini-LP Dateless Dudes' Club, and the infamous collaboration with Henry Rollins Let There Be Rock single, This tremendous 2CD set encompasses a strange and uncharted period in Hard-Ons' history.
