LBW Records re-masters, and re-releases the Kaiser's 1997 CD only release "Wishing Street" (originally released on NO HIT Records) on CD format, but more imprtantly, for the first time ever on the format it is made for, VINYL!! Yes, the first ever vinyl version of this album is finally hitting the shelves.. Formed in 1992, The Kaisers exist in the same timezone as famous beat combos of 1962 etc, they look and sound like they could be on the way to play the Cavern, or on their way back from Hamburg, but this aint simply some "retro" beat sound they are dishing out, this is a proper old fashioned rave up; you will dance and jive yourself into a frenzy!! A mono recording, the Kaisers' fourth long-play outing recreates the swinging sounds of very early Beatles and other Merseybeat bands with considerable gusto. The album cover also evokes another era, and a dozen of the album's 14 songs are originals, including a couple of wild instrumentals in the style of the Ventures and Shadows They are playing a select handful ofshows over the next year, includign a launch party for this re-release at he 100 Club in London on June 24th. LP limited to 500 blackvinyl / w/ DLcode / CD in updated digipak

Enter the all-encompassing universe of Everything, a score by Ben Lukas Boysen and Sebastian Plano – available worldwide via Erased Tapes on July 28th 2017. Game creator David OReilly has built an interactive world for you to explore at your choosing. Whether you decide to take the role of a microbe inside a plant in the desert, or a star in the furthermost galaxy, each layer of the game is coated with ambience which takes the simulation even further into the limitless boundaries of each world. Composers Ben Lukas Boysen and Sebastian Plano have shaped this experience with their intricate 4-hour soundscape, alongside the continuous narration by philosopher Alan Watts. Words from Ben and Sebastian, April 2017: “Composing something quite modular yet coherent that connects with the idea and fabric of the game was quite a task. We discussed many approaches, from really mathematical and direct, to abstract and philosophical, and we ended up with a mixture of both. Every element depends and builds on another and connects to previous and following songs. May it be on a compositional or on an abstract and conceptual level, the game and the music follow the same path and shares almost the same inspirational DNA.“ — Ben Lukas Boysen "Working on the soundtrack has been a truly inspiring collaboration. What fascinates me about the game is the self-exploratory approach it allows the player to experience; there is no purpose other than just being. This concept gave us wonderful freedom in searching for sounds and ideas that would fit the game. Throughout the score there is a subtle level of drama which gives depth to the game, yet the music never becomes predominant taking the player away from the main experience of being anything. Honest, simple and beautiful, Everything has been a rewarding creative journey to contribute to." — Sebastian Plano Though the score has an important part to play in heightening the atmosphere of the game, it has the capability of being a standalone album – carefully sequenced down to a 10-track selection by label founder Robert Raths. There is a considerably therapeutic quality about it, allowing the audience to transcend into a meditative state, which is what makes it a perfect partner for Everything. The music is a whole world of its own, yet part of the game’s universe. “Creating the score for Everything was a colossal undertaking. Its scope is as wide as the game itself. The music encompasses a vast range of sound and texture, held together by the immense skill and talent of Ben Lukas Boysen & Sebastian Plano. Together they created an extraordinary library of music which gives this game great dignity and depth, and elevate the experience beyond what I could have imagined.” — David OReilly The cover image features multiple components of the Everything universe, meticulously pieced together by David OReilly himself, in collaboration with designer Torsten Posselt at FELD.

fuck - 'BABY LOVES A FUNNY BUNNY'

Formats
  • VB06 - LP

Details

For fuck’s 1996 sophomore release, the band got sophomoric: the playing got more playful, and the lyrics got more nonsensical. Yet, from late-night confessional “Swinger” to the bare-boned sigh of “Whimper and Cry,” the band still embraces languor and melancholia. Unlike the band’s even-handed debut album, Pretty... Slow, this batch of songs careens multi-directionally— toy piano and baby grand! “Rococo” pops, “Tired” rocks, “Loosened Mind?” ups the weird, and “Talent, OR” goes full CinemaScope. From realizing “I am almost like a girl” to the hope that “black and white will soon be brown and gold” on their ode to Neil Young (“Ballet High”), the future of identity politics is nailed in 2:27. Think Jonathan Richman’s whimsical sincerity battling the obfuscation of Erik Satie: Baby Loves A Funny Bunny imbues both yin and yang. Schizo? Maybe. Let’s call it delightfully unpredictable.

“Amerikana”, The Stevenson Ranch Davidians’ first since 2009, releases June 9, 2017 on Picture In My Ear Records. Amerikana represents a new direction for the band, with the dreamy, flowing sound of albums past infused with a fresh sense of inspiration, energy and purpose. An eclectic, yet cohesive, set of songs that glorify the human spirit while condemning those who seek to destroy it. Singer/Guitarist Dwayne Seagraves states that Amerikana also celebrates what he views as true magic: human will put to action. Through his songs, he hopes to convey the sense that human beings have been the sole source of all great insights and achievements throughout history, and that power originates from within individuals rather than from gods, governments or other external sources. The band’s new lineup brings a range of talent, experience and inspiration to The Stevenson Ranch Davidians’ sound. In addition to longtime Davidians’ bassist Jessica Latiolait, guitarist Rob Campanella is a member of The Brian Jonestown Massacre and The Quarter After, while his brother, drummer and backing vocalist Andy Campanella, is a veteran of Occult Wisdom, Imogene, Chief Nowhere. Guitarist Misha Bullock, the sole Englishman in the fold, formerly played with Tennis System. "Their blend of ’60s-era psychedelic folk with elements of modern indie Americana becomes a form of protest... With woozy atmospherics that echo Kurt Vile and lyrics that veer into the spiritual, the band uplifts without preaching and encourages without chastising" – The Revue "‘Pulls you into a trance with its swaying, lilting in a mix of psonicadelia in what are mere minutes of spacey zen that lend to a sense of timeliness. With vocals as incredibly powerful as James’ vocalist Tim Booth, the energy factor is ideal in this piece of fantastic music mastery" – Big Takeover Magazine
