*BACK IN STOCK!* The classic 1983 hardcore scuzz rock debut from Berkeley, CA’s Fang, Landshark is a unique mix of erratic thrashers and slow Sabbath-oid noise riffs. Its best-known tune is without a doubt the rumbling and stumbling opening track “The Money Will Roll Right In,” which has been covered by Nirvana, Metallica, Mudhoney, The Butthole Surfers and god knows who else. The record also includes cheerful odes to the disabled (“Destroy the Handicapped”), the follicle-y challenged (“Skinheads Smoke Dope”), and assorted werewolves, delinquents and drug users. Fang continues to unload their brand of sludge-punk on audiences to this day, with recent tours taking them around the US, Europe and Brazil. This reissue is remastered and back in print on vinyl for the first time in 20 years, with additional vintage artwork inside. The digital download included with the disc also features their entire Where the Wild Things Are release, plus more.

Raw, melodic, powerful from the beginning till the last song. Laid back and in your face - this is a brilliant album! Aussies mate. The music scene out there is untouchable. A Top tier album. Now, and thankfully I might add, Australia has grabbed the globe by the balls, and by their own terms too. We lap it up like dogs, say thank you and may we have another, from early King Gizzard, The Chats and Amyl and the Sniffers to the blokes from Byron in question: Mini Skirt. ‘Casino’ refers not to a glitzy gambling facility but to the regional Northern NSW town where the band took a trip to write some songs. The album was recorded at The Music Farm in Coorabell, on Bundjalung Land. Mini Skirt would like to acknowledge the Arakwal Bumberlin people of the Bundjalung Nation who are the Traditional Custodians of the land on which this record was written and recorded. We respect their living culture, connection to land, waters and community. We extend our respect to Elders past, present and future.

Children Of Finland Fighting In Norway aka C.O.F.F.I.N is an Australian punk band who have accepted the mental of their nation’s long legacy of greasy-haired, outback-scrounging, garage rock rumblers, blowing out eardrums and amps one stage at a time, while chiseling their name below those of Radio Birdman and The Hard-Ons in petrol station bathroom stalls across New South Wales and beyond. C.O.F.F.I.N’s brought their sweaty, slug-trailed tunes and cracked cavalcade on the road in the UK / EU last year, while on tour with Amyl and the Sniffers. This latest self-titled album from C.O.F.F.I.N’s is their fourth LP overall and retains a lot of the attitude from their previous releases. It unleashes a raging rip of rock fury that blazes like a wildfire, kept alive and deadly by the bellow-like thump and growl of drummer and vocalist Ben Portnoy whirlwind conjuring percussion and libido-pumping leads and grooves of the band’s three guitarists, Abijah Rado, Arthur Flanders, and Aaron Moss.

Hailing from Toluca in Mexico and made up of multi instrumentalists Gabriela Alcalá and Alam Castillo, ‘Aura is an album of hypnotically charged uber kraut beat dream pop music. Maybe it’s the mushrooms/peyote but the music that Mirror Revelations have created for their debut LP is of a stunning ambiance for inner journeys to hallucinogenic highs. The journey starts with ‘The Wave’ – as a transportative wash of synths float in/out of the ether until emerging is that motorik rhythm that slowly creeps in as the synths and guitars begin the inner rush as you head into ‘Amoenus’ – it is a wonderfully spellbinding and entrancing opening for your new favourite psychedelic band. Their gift for melody is apparent throughout and Gabriela and Alams breathy vocals riding atop irresistible synth drones and at times scuzzy and squalling guitars that THROB, and then there's THAT propulsive UBER metronomic beat – it is incredible viscerally and exciting, a heady cocktail of everything our ears love the most is served to your soul on Aura. The asymmetric guitars, bass grooves and dynamic drums we’ve come to love on their previous two EPs are all there brighter than ever on forthcoming debut album What If You’re Right & They’re Wrong?. It’s raw but sharp, minimalist and danceable. Their pop sensibilities make it accessible while their post-punk leanings make it exciting. We’re calling it now as one of our favourite albums of the year! When I put this on I listen all the way through. The other day two times in a row. Unbelievably catchy. I will love this even years and years from now, for sure. Can’t pick a favorite song. This sounds like it could have been released in any of the last 5-6 decades. Solid, tight songs that warm the soul. I’m picking up on a wide diversity of sounds, from The Pixies to Blondie. Really glad to have stumbled across these guys! Extremely catchy, every song is a bop.

PUBLIC INTEREST can do no wrong in our eyes and they held the door open for you again. This LP is even denser and fuller than their previous Between 12". If you like dark post-punk, you might like this, as much as we do. Synthy post-punk that surprises with every track. ETT is proud to bring the 2nd vinyl from this project out of Oakland featuring (or maybe even consisting entirely of?) a member of Marbled Eye. Marbled Eye’s recent recordings showcased their ability to write catchy post-punk tunes and this 8-song LP from Public Interest is the same level. While you’ll hear plenty of those memorable guitar lines that made the Marbled Eye tracks so great, the songs here feel snappier, more concerned with generating a pop-inspired forward momentum than stretching things out and floating in mid-air. The angular synth lines and mechanical rhythms are a nice counterpoint to those fluid guitar lines, imbuing Between with an irresistible tension. This is utterly brilliant. I don't have a favourite track because this record is just good and coherent in its integrity. Guitars sound ace, drums and bass are on point and the vocals give some pop shades that are never annoying. Really great enjoyable LP.

Robert Pollard has a very strong work ethic. With most of their touring canceled due to the pandemic and then a fractured kneecap, Guided By Voices ran up an extremely prolific streak in the studio, recording and releasing eight albums in the past three years and garnering piles of rave four star and five star reviews in the process. In case one were snoozing, the last album, La La Land was Uncut magazine’s “Best Of The Month.” The pandemic records were particularly notable and unique that the band members recorded most of their instruments individually in separate cities. Welshpool Frillies finds the gang back together, in a Brooklyn basement with producer Travis Harrison. Much of it was recorded live to tape. The catchy ear worms in these new songs are undeniable, as the kinetic energy of the band is captured in its most raw and pure form. The album is brash, no-frills, and punky, inspired by the wiliness of 90s-era GBV, specifically the Scalping The Guru compilation that Pollard put together in 2022. 2023 marks the 40th anniversary of GBV’s start in Dayton, Ohio. Robert Pollard was an elementary school teacher with no formal music training, and his unlikely success has been an odds-defying adventure. It’s never too late to discover this vital rock band and join the GBV cult.

Widely known for his past work as drummer/percussionist with legendary Dead Can Dance and contributor to 4AD's This Mortal Coil, Ulrich emerges here as a writer of hauntingly beautiful melodies and deeply poetic lyrics. “Pathways And Dawns” is packed with driving rhythms and meditative ritual patterns of percussion. With some inspired guitar-work, arrangement, and production from DCD mastermind Brendan Perry, the result is a pure delight... The album was recorded in two parts, the first in England in 1990, and the second after a long time break in 1996-97, by Brendan Perry at DCD's Quivvy Church studio in Ireland. The album was released on CD in 1999 on the US label Projekt and was dubbed by critics as "the album the Beatles might have made had the group signed with 4AD instead of Capitol" and "a wonderful collection of songs that, while in the 4AD school, shimmers with an inner lightness that makes it very different ". This absolute masterpiece of spiritual music, so badly wanted on vinyl for so long, is available now. Mastered from Original master takes by Martin Bowes (Attrition).
