MOPE GROOVES - 'BOX OF DARK ROSES'
Formats
LSSN093 - 2LP + ZINE

Details
The final album from stevie’s Mope Grooves, the seminal Portland collective. A 2 hour, 27 track masterpiece of touching, warped music that transcends genre into a realm of pure inspiration. All profits from this release will be donated to Survived and Punished charity. Through the fog of our grief in the wake of the earth-shattering loss of our beloved angel Stevie, on this day which would have been her 35th birthday, we announce the release of Mope Groove’s final album; Box of Dark Roses. A 27 song, 2XLP of songs that Stevie prepared for release before she left. In addition to the music, Stevie provided extensive liner notes to accompany the album. These are included with the album in the form of a zine, or as a digital PDF, respectively. "If i'm ever hard to get a hold of u can find my whole heart in here." -Stevie (from her liner notes) Rest in peace sweet angel. We love you forever. Stevie provided the following statement on the album before her departure: "all artist profits and digital proceeds will be redistributed in perpetuity to incarcerated or formerly incarcerated survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, especially the many women and other gender marginalized ppl incarcerated for defending themselves against their attackers. funds will be allocated to the Survived and Punished NY Mutual Aid Fund, a comparable organization, or directly into commissary funds or fundraisers of incarcerated survivors "box of dark roses is a 27 song LP where the same images repeat and repeat until you might have some idea of what roses have to do with armed struggle, trans autonomy, losing your house (again), angels, women political prisoners, violence returned to sender, suicided poets, refusing to recant, insisting on life, & how the revenge of twenty billion screaming ghost women could unmake the worst of all possible worlds”

WATER DAMAGE - 'REPEATER'
Formats
CFUL0325 - LP
Details
There is something really special about music based on drones. Whether it's the vocals of Pandit Pran Nath, the ARP 2500 of Eliane Radigue, or the nearly-blown amps of Sunn O))), by changing the listeners's focus on details to one that favors flow, drones are uniquely capable of transporting our brains far far away. The debut LP, 'Repeater', by this loudly droning Austin septet is a goddamn splendid example of how the process works. Using the motto, “Maximal Repetition Minimal Deviation,” Water Damage create glowing fields of post-rock lava that pretty much suck you right in and boil you alive. Water Damage, while technically a septet, actually operate in various configurations, with the proviso there should always be two drummers and two bass players on hand. They prefer if each of their sonic ideas takes up a whole reel of tape, and once they start they don't look back. Everything proceeds towards an imaginary end point that is only achieved when the tape starts flapping. What a way to run a railroad! But the folks in the band are all vets of various projects – Spray Paint, USA/Mexico, Marriage, Black Eyes, Thor & Friends, among others -- so let's assume they know what they're doing. And why not? They sound fucking great. Their approach to the form is less front-loaded than most of their peers, and the surface of their sound is sometimes ruffled by aural events of an un-drone-like nature. But the main gush is usually a blend of harmonic tones and textures pointing towards a goal that is just out of ear-shot, just over the next bluff, and perhaps forever just beyond our reach. So remember to drink plenty liquid while you spin this fine album. Nobody wants you to parch. --Byron Coley MAXIMAL REPETITION MINIMAL DEVIATION

WATER DAMAGE - '2 SONGS'
Formats
CFUL0326 - LP
Details
More Water! More Damage! The second proper LP by this Texan juggernaut is even more biggerer than the first, a head-drowning pair of new “reels” (every Water Damage tracks generally take up a reel of tape, hence the “reel ____” song titles) that makes you feel like you’re swimming in a sun-drenched river of sound. Two drummers, two bassists, and tons of vibrating strings are once again a recipe for massive rocking-drone fires. “Two Songs” has two songs, and they’re kind of the yin/yang of Water Damage: one toned very low, growling and roaring, groaning over a beat, while the other hums high, troubling the treble clef and ringing like a bunch of church bells that don’t want to be in church. They’re more alike than different though, divining momentum from repetition, flying forward by staying in place, climbing a mountain that they’re building as they go. Enough ink has already been spilled about the previous-band pedigrees of the players in this hurtling collective, and by this point, the past seems way less relevant than the present when it comes to Water Damage’s present-pounding sound. These people know what they’re doing, sure. You don’t need a resume in front of you to figure that out. It’s there in every second of this gigantic, eternal music - in all the strings being bowed, the skins being slammed, the rumbles being rumbled. You might notice that this time around, Water Damage haven’t just given their tracks reel numbers. They're also called "Fuck This" and "Fuck That." I take that as instructional. Whatever you’re doing, whatever you’re fretting about, whatever someone’s trying to use to occupy your attention so you’ll buy something or vote for something or ignore something: Fuck This. Fuck That. Listen to Water Damage. - Marc Masters MAXIMAL REPETITION MINIMAL DEVIATION

THE DSM IV - 'NEGATIVE UTOPIA'
Formats
NXN031EP - LP
0615625580983
Details
After releasing their accomplished debut album “NEW AGE PARANOIA” in 2023, THE DSM IV are following up with this limited edition, vinyl only EP “NEGATIVE UTOPIA”. Formed by Guy McKnight of the critically acclaimed and cult favourite The Eighties Matchbox B-Line Disaster, THE DSM IV has a dark sound that blends hypnotic noise-rock with synth-pop industrial aesthetics. “NEGATIVE UTOPIA” features six more synth-pop-acid-house-goth-rock-new-wave bangers. The A-Side consists of three new songs by the band. Meanwhile on the B-Side there are remixes of two tracks from “NEW AGE PARANOIA” (‘Racist Man’ and ‘Pennywise’) plus a cover of Joy Division’s iconic ‘Isolation’. Shimmering synth lines meet heavy guitar riffs in a kaleidoscopic sonic sound space where McKnight’s shamanic vocal acts as a guiding force. This EP, like their debut album, demonstrates that THE DSM IV are a band with a social conscience and are unafraid to speak truth to power on matters of injustice. Their music is a reflection of the what is around them, it grapples with the consequences of a cruel and unjust planet with an optimism and belief that a better world is possible.

VARIOUS - 'VORSICHT! DIGITAL THEMES FROM THE ARCADIA LIBRARY'
Formats
BUTR115 - 10"
Details
Featuring waves of neon synths, pristine machine funk, scorched ambient drones, gnarled bass lines, playful radiophonics & industrial percussion, this thrilling selection of obscure 1980's electronica is compiled by Zyklus (Alan Gubby / Revbjelde) and presented on 10" white vinyl. "On a teaching placement during the pandemic, I found a dusty cupboard above our college theatre holding 200+ library music CDs. Most of the discs were from the Arcadia Cosmos library, a prolific production house active during the late 1980s and early 1990s. I spent the next few weeks working through the discs and found several interesting electronic pieces although, pseudonym or not, I didn't recognise any of the composers involved. Further research kept leading to dead ends with Arcadia's owners having long vacated their last known address and web links either broken or abandoned. So more questions than answers remain about the library's provenance. For instance, who was / is the brilliantly named David Beast? Did Kraftwerk engage trans-european lawyers after hearing Endurance Test? Was Sylvia Sommer deliberately channelling vintage 1960's radiophonics by John Baker? What studio gear was used to create the distinctive Arcadia sound? And, for what appears to have been a UK-based company, why are so many of the album titles, tracks and composer names distinctly Germanic? If anyone has the answers please get in touch." Details
Infinite Fog Productions is thrilled to announce the long-awaited reissue of the legendary Psychonavigation series in a 5CD Box format! After countless delays in recent times, we are excited to break the silence and kick off a series of announcements! First up is the long-awaited reissue of the outstanding Psychonavigation series, created by the legendary artists Bill Laswell and Pete Namlook. From 1994 to 2002, the brilliant producers Bill Laswell and Pete Namlook released a series of five works titled Psychonavigation—a rare gem for fans of heavy ambient collaboration. Masterfully playing with genres and refusing to be confined by any boundaries, they were mutually in awe of each other's talents and delivered numerous significant projects, including the iconic Outland, The Dark Side Of The Moog, and of course, Psychonavigation. This stunning palette of musical styles ranges from Space, Dark, and Drone Ambient to Electro and cosmic Downtempo, through dense layers of Dub to almost industrial, mechanical techno spaces. These five albums are like personal spacecraft traveling at faster-than-light speeds, carrying five keys to eternity and infinity. The reissue anthology comes in a 5CD box set, with each disc housed in its own envelope, featuring a brand-new design and a complete set of audio materials. The package also includes an exclusive poster with an essay about the project, written by Bill Laswell in Winter 2024. Now, 30 years after the release of the first part of Psychonavigation, the anthology is available in a single box! ~ More about Psychonavigation: The Psychonavigation series, originally released between 1993 and 1999, marked a milestone in the world of ambient and electronic music. Each album in this series represents a unique journey into soundscapes, creating deep and immersive atmospheric textures. The creative genius of Bill Laswell combined with the innovative approach of Pete Namlook made this series a remarkable achievement in electronic music.
Tracks
CD I: Psychonavigation I (1994): The beginning of the collaboration between Bill Laswell and Peter Namlook. Melancholic and introspective compositions, the endless solitude of space.
CD II: Psychonavigation II (1995): The second album continues the exploration of atmospheric sounds and electronic landscapes. This release features more complex textures and more clearly structured compositions while maintaining the characteristic ambient and experimental electronic elements of the series.
CD III: Psychonavigation III (1997): The third album delves deeper into atmospheric sound and offers even more diverse sonic palettes. The mutual understanding between the musicians became even deeper, and it seems that on this album they found their unique language of communication. Rich and multilayered compositions where Laswell and Namlook continue to explore the boundaries of ambient and electronic music. Bold decisions on "Reentry", "Dark Matter", and "Event Horizon", boundless experimentation, and creative freedom.
CD IV: Psychonavigation IV (1999): The fourth album continues the theme of deep and introspective soundscapes, but with the addition of new elements and experimental approaches. The sounds become even more complex and mesmerizing, faster-than-light speed, and worlds of other dimensions.
CD V: Psychonavigation V (2002): The fifth album concludes the series with a focus on a more structured approach to ambient music creation. The endless depth and cosmic melancholy remain but with a more pronounced sense of completion. This is the fifth key to eternity? not a landing, but a final transition to a new universe.
