**On Transparent Green w/ Orange Hi Melt Coloured Vinyl** The ridiculously prolific Bay Area band Thee Oh Sees are back with another full-length long-player. Warm Slime is guaranteed to please fans of their whacked-out garage / psych / punk jams. Recorded by Sacramento sultan of sound Chris Woodhouse, Warm Slime carries on in the same tradition as the group's previous In The Red release, Help, showcasing their more electrified and rocking side, in comparison to other recent home-recorded releases. The centerpiece is undoubtedly the mind-bending title track, which clocks in at nearly 14 minutes and takes up the entirety of the album's first side. It's a psychedelic epic of "Inna Gadda Da Vida" proportions! John Dwyer's guitar playing is at its quadraspazzed best here, and the vocal interplay with Brigid Dawson gives it a B-52s-at-their-least-cheesy-crossed-with-the- Troggs vibe. The results are stunning. "Thee Oh Sees incorporate the oft-referenced Nuggets stuff in a way that feels reverential. With grinding guitars and bah-bah-bah vocals, but with the punk and new-wave elements also at play, they don't feel trite or plagiarized. This is like meat and potatoes prepared by a master chef-totally familiar but utterly delicious." -Pitchfork Recorded by Chris Woodhouse (Mayyors' guitarist and producer for The A-Frames, Hospitals, Coachwhips, Erase Errata, etc.) This is one of the best sonic blasts you will trash your speakers with this year....Raw, and real! Opening track is 13 minutes long, yes, we'll take it...

**CLEAR PURPLE VINYL REPRESS** What's the first thing you think of when someone mentions Thee Oh Sees? Probably their riot-sparking live show, right? Visions of a guitar-chewing, melody-maiming John Dwyer careening across your cranium, rounded out by a wild-eyed wrecking crew that drives every last hook home like it's a nail in the coffin of what you thought it meant to make 21st-century rock 'n' roll? Yeah, that sounds about right. But it misses a more important point-how impossible Thee Oh Sees have been to pin down since Dwyer launched the project in the late '90s as a solo break from such sorely missed underground bands as Pink and Brown and Coachwhips. (While Dwyer still records songs on his own, Thee Oh Sees is now a five-piece featuring keyboardist / singer Brigid Dawson, guitarist Petey Dammit, drummer Mike Shoun and multi-instrumentalist / singer Lars Finberg.) That restlessness extends to everything from the towering, thirteen-minute title track of 2010's Warm Smile LP to the mercurial moods of 2008's The Master's Bedroom Is Worth Spending a Night In. Now, Thee Oh Sees chase the home-brewed symphonies of Castlemania with the scrappy, high-wire hooks of Carrion Crawler / The Dream. Originally envisioned as two EPs, it was cut live to tape in less than a week at Chris Woodhouse's Sacramento studio in June, reflecting the battering-ram bent of the band's live show better than any bootleg ever could. "As I'm sure most would agree," explains Dwyer, "Castlemania was more of a vocal tirade. This one's meant to pummel and throb." That it does, whether one blasts the slow, speaker-bruising build of "The Dream," the sunburnt organs and dovetailing guitars of "Crack in Your Eye" or the interstellar instrumental "Chem-Farmer," a perfect example of what happens when one takes a well-oiled machine-a gang of rabid road warriors, really-and adds a second, groove-locked drum set to the mix. To listen is to realize that Dwyer's music is as manic as the underground comic inclinations of his artwork; colorful and confusing in a way that's more than welcome. It's downright refreshing, like a slap in the face at 5:00 in the morning. Or, as Dwyer puts it, "You have to leave a mark somehow."

At last, a brand new album from the legendary Heads. 'yourprettyplaceisgoingtohell' is their first new material for 20 years. It will be released almost 30 years on from their seminal debut “Relaxing With”, this will be their fifth studio album proper. The band are a well established though reclusive part of the UKs underground /cult psychedelic rock scene. A constant four piece, they also perform/record in their own projects; Paul Allen/Anthroprophh, Simon Price/Kandodo and Wayne Maskell and Hugo Morgan are both now in Loop. The album was recorded over three days whilst the Heads were rehearsing for a couple of live dates with their friends, and peers, Mudhoney. The guitars, drums and bass were laid down live in Bristol, over-dubs added and then mixed/produced by John McBain in Portland. Initially planned as two single albums, (Volumes 1+2) it soon made sense that they should be put together as a double LP. Named in a nod to the Stooges' Raw Power classic 'Your Pretty Face Is Going To Hell', it describes the trajectory we're all on. The Heads are renowned for their brutalist take on psychedelic rock, this new album shows how much they have absorbed from their years of existence, their peers and the world around them. Not much change though, they haven't mellowed out. The pummel is there, the spaced out sike zones are there, there’s wigged out guitar solos that will peel the paint off the walls, there’s even pop songs if you look/listen hard enough. John McBain has done a grand job in fine tuning the noise and sonic assault. It's hard to draw a direct “for fans of “ list, because ultimately this album is for fans of the Heads. However, you can trace the DNA of this album back to the Stooges, Hawkwind, 13th Floor Elevators, Can, Mudhoney, Monster Magnet, Loop, Spacemen 3, MC5 etc. all squeezed through the Head's heavy sonic blender. A band that only ever existed on the fringes, "if you're not on the edge, you're taking up too much space''. Life and jobs got in the way a bit but hey, at least that kept it pure. 'One chord, three pedals, six years' was an old mantra of theirs. They've pushed that to 'three chords, double album, 20 years'. Don't expect another. Pre-apocalypse blues of rhythmic fuzz and acid rock. This album will be the soundtrack to navigate 2026.

**ON VERY LTD BLUE SKY MARBLE VINYL** **ON VERY LTD MUSTARD OPAQUE VINYL** SILVER VINYL BACK IN STOCK!! Ushering in a new era, Berlin based, New Zealand heavy psych duo Earth Tongue lower the castle gates on their third album Dungeon Vision, a trove of fuzz-drenched anthems produced by garage rock luminary Ty Segall in Los Angeles. Guitarist Gussie Larkin and drummer Ezra Simons spent the Berlin winter of 2025 refining the album’s twelve tracks in their self-described “windowless cave” rehearsal space, crafting a record that channels both isolation and the duo’s live intensity. With the songs finally taking shape and a studio deadline looming, they flew to Los Angeles to turn their hard-won ideas into the real thing. Once there, the band and Ty captured lightning in a bottle, recording and mixing Dungeon Vision in just ten days at Altamira Sound. Tracked live to tape, Dungeon Vision pulses with human energy, fuzz guitars, bone-battering drums, and hauntingly tuneful vocals. Ty Segall’s influence is all over the record with Ty choosing the best takes based on feel rather than technical perfection. The “king of fuzzy guitar tones” pushed the duo to find new sonic textures while championing their raw chemistry. “Ty’s been a big driving force,” says Ezra. “We supported him in New Zealand back in 2023, and he’s backed us ever since even bringing us on tour through Europe and the UK in 2024.” Since their emergence in 2016, Earth Tongue’s world-building, visuals, and relentless touring have earned them global attention and a cult-like following. Their 2024 album Great Haunting, also released on In The Red Records, received a Taite Music Prize nomination and saw them win Best Group at the 2025 Aotearoa Music Awards. They’ve toured extensively, sharing stages with the likes of Queens of the Stone Age, IDLES, Acid King, Brant Bjork and Kikagaku Moyo. With Dungeon Vision, Earth Tongue deliver their most immersive work yet, a richly human, fuzz-soaked journey that bottles the magic of their live show and cements their reputation as one of the most exciting psych rock acts on the planet.

GANGLOFF / SCHENKER / SHEPPARD - 'UNIVERSAL LIGHT'
Formats
VHF168 - LP

Details
Debut by a new string trio of Pelt and Elkhorn veterans with the wild card contributions of Kaily Schenker, creating a new variant of supremely pleasing acoustic-psychedelic-drone-Americana etc. “Lullaby>Summer Field” is an aptly named gentle rise, with Sheppard’s fingerpicked 12 string snaking through waves of elongated fiddle and cello. “Triode>Freedom” follows a darker minor-key ostinato with Gangloff’s keening melody over the top. “Freedom>Universal Blues” starts as a dirge and builds to a transition into the traditional “The Squirrel is a Pretty Thing,” with Kaily Schenker’s droning harmonium and vocal delivering a riveting, epic version of what’s usually cast as a short “kids”/folk-tale song (e.g. Peggy Seeger’s version). Originally this album was released by the band in an instantly sold-out edition of 100 for sale at their shows. This updated version includes a new insert by Kaily, a new cut by John Golden and a thick pressing from Smashed in Chicago.

BILL FOX - 'RESONANCE'

EHRC0015 - LP

Details
The return of Cleveland Ohio's songwriter laureate with the first LP of unreleased music in 13 years. Bill Fox fronted the power-pop band The Mice and won acclaim with solo albums Shelter From the Smoke and Transit Byzantium; his new album Resonance has won national acclaim and been featured in multiple reputable periodicals as a triumphant return to music. With his first LP since the re-issue of 2017’s Before I Went to Harvard, Bill Fox won international acclaim with 2025’s Resonance (Eleventh Hour Recording Company), a collection of never-before heard tracks that span his career. Sequenced, restored, and remastered into a cohesive statement, Resonance was hailed as “full of sharp lyrics, vivid imagery, crushing confessions, and endearing musical flourishes” (Pitchfork) with tracks such as Terminal Way being “a great example of his knack for McCartney-like pop craftsmanship” (Uproxx). Known for both his beloved solo releases Shelter From the Smoke and Transit Byzantium as much as his power-pop garage group with brother Tommy in The Mice, Fox has long been admired by fellow musicians and music fans alike who have praised his plainspoken lyricism and melodic instinct. Much like those critically heralded releases, “Resonance is uniformly excellent and presents an ideal entry point for newcomers” (Uproxx). A study in contrasts: stark acoustic confessionals sit alongside bursts of power-pop energy, Resonance’s fidelity ranges from cassette hiss to studio clarity. Songs like “Lift Your Heads,” and “Meat Factory” showcase Fox’s gift for blending social commentary with timeless melody, while “Wildflower” blooms with Guided By Voice’s Doug Gillard’s acoustic guitar and Karen Golden’s vocal harmony. The closing track, “Got Her on My Mind,” recalls the scrappy verve of The Mice but with the wisdom of a songwriter who has weathered decades on his own terms. One of the hallmarks of Bill’s music as a whole that helps make Resonance unique is its embrace of imperfection. From the playful outlier “The Biggest Sale” to the lo-fi intimacy of “Desperation,” the LP achieves a balance that feels both fragile and profound; whose beauty lies in its minimalism and flaws, its patchwork textures, and its refusal to chase polish or trends. Resonance doesn’t just reaffirm Bill Fox’s cult status—it deepens it, carrying forward the hallmarks of Fox's catalog while daringly breaking new ground.

Details
Eleventh Hour Recording Co. presents a remarkable reissue that gathers together a wealth of otherwise unreleased Bill Fox material, offering listeners a deeper glimpse into the songwriter’s singular world. This compilation showcases Fox at his most versatile, moving effortlessly between intimate folk balladry and sharp-edged power pop, while also highlighting his collaborative spirit through rare tracks with The Radio Flyers. The collection features standout folk songs that exemplify Fox’s plainspoken poetry and melodic instinct, including “Standing On Nothing Now,” “Greenlove,” “On The Way,” and the aching “Chain To Your Heart.” A cover of Peter Laughner’s “Baudelaire” is reimagined with Fox’s understated delivery, while two traditional folk numbers add texture, even if they feel less essential. The real revelation, however, comes with the inclusion of three Radio Flyers tracks: “I Only Did It Cuz I Felt So Lonely,” penned by Wally Bryson is pure power-pop brilliance; Fox’s own “Alienated” brims with urgency and bite; and “Whenever I” closes their contribution with another undeniable gem. What makes this reissue so compelling is its patchwork quality. Like much of Fox’s catalog, it embraces imperfection, balancing lo-fi intimacy with flashes of studio clarity. The sequencing allows the listener to move between hushed folk confessionals and full-band energy, creating a dynamic portrait of an artist who has always resisted easy categorization. For longtime admirers, the Radio Flyers tracks alone make this a must-have; for newcomers, the folk songs provide an accessible entry point into Fox’s enduring craft. This release is more than a stopgap or curiosity—it’s a vital addition to the Bill Fox canon, reaffirming his place as one of the most distinctive voices of indie folk and power pop.

BILL ORCUTT - 'MUSIC IN CONTINUOUS MOTION'
Formats
PAL096 - LP

840526502929
Details
Music in Continuous Motion, Bill Orcutt’s latest entry into his 21st-century repertoire of quartet guitar music, pointedly steps away from the cut-and-paste constructivism of Music for Four Guitars into a sonic stratum that's yearningly melodic, resolutely human, and built for performance. Conceived for a 2026 NYC concert, Music in Continuous Motion shares the concision of its predecessor—but rather than the discrete, mechanistic precision of Music for Four Guitars, the tracks on Music in Continuous Motion unify—each song weaving four gleaming threads into the warp and weft of an evolving, complex texture that employs simple, repeating motifs to build new melodies from counterpoint itself. It accomplishes this in the most efficient manner possible: most of these 12 tracks hover around two-and-a- half minutes, each iterating first the substrate, then the melody and its variations, then slamming shut like a clockwork music box. Based on previous recorded evidence, Orcutt is fond of boundary conditions for his studio guitar records. Much of the time, his launchpad is obvious (The Four Louies, How to Rescue Things); with others, it’s intentionally obscured. When recruiting me to write about each release, he might send me a clue (“This is a bridge pickup record more than a neck pickup record,” Orcutt helpfully offered for Music for Four Guitars). Although any given dispatch is a potential red herring, up until now, each has implied an Oulipian conceit (however obtuse) that at least somewhat determines the outcome. Thus, I was a bit surprised by his statement on Music in Continuous Motion—“The mystery of how [the] same person, same process, same gear produces different results." When pressed, he elaborated that the record features “no triplets,” something I’ve yet to count out to determine for myself. Whatever overarching form the recording process may have mapped out, the path of the finished album is explicitly poetic. Echoing its predecessor, the song titles, read in sequence, paint fleetingly-glimpsed forms—but in contrast to the distant shapes described in Music For Four Guitars, the present narrative spotlights the dance of polygons momentarily grasped (and then lost) as they spin through space: “Because sharp also smooth,” “And warm to the touch,” “Now nearly gone,” “Yet always moving,” “Impossible to reach.” Ultimately, the key difference between the albums (and what places Music in Continuous Motion in the realm of poetry) is its celebration of movement over immutability, of melody over form, of music as a hot wire to the heart rather than another upped ante in an arms race of inscrutability.—Tom Carter

**RED VINYL** The unholy triumvirate of Big Sexy Noise featuring Lydia Lunch, James Johnston (Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Faust) & Ian White (Barry Adamson) of the notorious Gallon Drunk are dead set on proving once more that ROCK is alive and kicking, down and dirty and raunchier than ever! Lunch helped pioneer no wave in 1977 with the slashing din of Teenage Jesus and the Jerks and has remained a caustic presence in the alt-rock firmament ever since. Big Sexy Noise unites her with guitarist James Johnston and drummer Ian White of guttural London greasers Gallon Drunk for the most joyfully bawdy music of her career, stripping bare the bluesy brawn of 70’s heavy-rock and inverting its every cock-rock cliche to Lunch’s delight. White’s limber shuffle injects sinful grace into what could have been Neanderthal sludge, while Johnston stirs up the din of an entire band with his single guitar, hurtling between bone-simple, steamy riffs and blasts of near psychedelic noise. Big Sexy Noise Live in Italy, a fierce, fearless, tub thumbing, balls to the wall rock monsterpiece.

**LTD 300 UK ONLY COPIES ON GRIMACE PURPLE VINYL** "40 or so Damaged Bug tunes from the past seven years were orphaned / unfinished, which is pretty rare for me. I just kept having other things going on & life kept getting in the way. And frankly, the songs were all over the place so I didn’t see a thread in there, but in light of current events in the world, I feel like It’s every artist’s calling to construct personal messages cloaked in moments of escapism. That’s what this record is for me–something to clear the decks a little bit in my studio, relax my mind, and keep the wolf from the door. It’s a bit of a joyous/sad record dealing with hope and forgiveness, two things which I hope end up more in my life. It’s abstract and poppy, fried and sugary. It's exactly how I feel at the moment fried and skewed. Good luck out there and I hope this turns off the torrent for you, for a moment." - John Dwyer

*PINK VINYL W. SIGNED PHOTO* Rom Com is the debut album from Disco In Sochi; a Liverpoolborn duo injecting full-throttle glam rock theatrics into modern pop. Built on strutting guitars, neon synths, & unapologetically huge hooks, their sound is loud, glossy, and engineered for the spotlight. Drawing from the lineage of glam’s excess and pop’s instinct for spectacle, Disco in Sochi trade subtlety for swagger. Their songs are designed to hit hard and fast — all attitude, amplification, and choruses made to be yelled back from the front row. It’s music that treats the stage like a catwalk. Disco in Sochi make pop music for outsiders who dress loud, move louder, and don’t believe in playing it cool. Equal parts flash and force, they arrive with the confidence of a band ready to turn volume into a statement.
