Details

**REPRESSED ON MAGENTA VINYL** This is a reissue of Bikini Kill’s second EP, Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah. Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah was recorded in 1992 with Tim Green (Nation of Ulysses) at The Embassy - a group-house in Washington, D.C. - and was the first Bikini Kill release to feature the band’s song, “Rebel Girl.” Originally a split EP with the Brighton, UK-based band, Huggy Bear, the b-side now features seven previously unreleased Bikini Kill songs drawn from era-appropriate live shows and practice tapes. The artwork has also been updated to include archival photos and liner notes from the Bratmobile’s Erin Smith, Comet Gain’s David Feck, and the members of Bikini Kill. Bikini Kill was a feminist punk band based in Olympia, WA and Washington, D.C., forming in 1990 and breaking up in 1997. Kathleen Hanna sang, Tobi Vail played drums, Billy Karren (a.k.a. Billy Boredom) played guitar and Kathi Wilcox played bass. Bikini Kill is credited with instigating the Riot Grrrl movement in the early ’90s via their political lyrics, zines, and confrontational live performances. This EP is the second release in a larger campaign to reissue the complete Bikini Kill catalog on vinyl and CD in addition to the digital downloads that are available now at www.bikinikill.com. Dischord Direct is the exclusive distributor of these reissues.

Details

Mark Morgan (formerly of Sightings and Silk Purse) and Gaute Granli first met in Brooklyn at The Glove in 2017 while Granli was on tour from his home country of Norway. The following year, Morgan embarked on a solo European tour and he and Granli did three shows together in Norway. Ultimately finding each other reasonably tolerable and able to agree to disagree on punk versus prog, they soon thereafter toured together in the fall of 2019 in Europe for 50 days with each playing solo. As the tour progressed, both found themselves influencing and being influenced by the other and by the end, they decided they should do a band together (easier to book one act rather than a package deal). Plans were made to reconvene in 2020 to record and possibly tour but then Covid threw a wrench into the works. A couple of years later, Rump State finally started playing and recording together in 2021 at Entropy Studio in Redford, Michigan (notably the childhood home of Ted Nugent who purportedly refers to it as "Tedford"). Outside of agreeing that there should be a strong focus on duo vocals and that Morgan would play guitar and Granli electronics, not much else was discussed in advance of first playing together. From these sessions, their first LP "Retaliation Aesthetics" was cobbled together and eventually released on the Parisian No Lagos label in March 2023. Since then, Rump State has toured the USA once and Europe multiple times. 'Psychic Sidekick', Rump State's second album, is a jarring, dizzying (even!) collision ; prior notions of song disassembly and aural properties being repossessed-then-sold-for-scrap were already due for reassessment. Morgan and Granli have rendered such arguments moot, and if you prefer "discussion" to argument, CONGRATS ON BEING SO (fucking) civilized. That's not gonna diminish this album's impact one iota. Is this the most challenging album of 2026? How in blazes should I know, it's only February.

Kelley Stoltz is an American songwriter, multi instrumentalist, and DIY innovator whose career stretches back to the late 1990s, when he began self recording lush, psych tinged pop and garage rock in his San Francisco home studio. Born in New York City in 1971, and raised in Michigan, Stoltz has released a remarkable catalog of albums on labels including Sub Pop, Third Man, and Castle Face Records often playing all of the instruments himself and drawing comparisons to the melodic craftsmanship of the major 60’s pop auteurs and the quirkiness of lesser known 80’s power-pop & new wave. After issuing his 18th album, La Fleur in 2024 to critical notice, he returns in 2026 with his 19th full length release, If You Don’t Know Me, Buy Now, a collection that continues his long exploration of hook laden psych pop, introspective lyrics, and richly textured arrangements that both honor his influences and push his sound forward, reinforcing his status as one of the most prolific and singular voices in underground rock. Guests Brigid Dawson of the Osees, Karina Denike of Dance Hall Crashers, Pete Straus of the Dwarves and Allyson Baker Dirty Ghosts and other guests provide backing vocals on several tracks. Long a favorite of MOJO, Brooklyn Vegan, and John Dwyer… Stoltz is also a onetime Echo & the Bunnymen rhythm guitarist and currently Robyn Hitchcock’s West Coast drummer. Stoltz is also now the host of legendary radio station KEXPs weekly Bay Area Music spotlight show, “Vinelands”. An extensive UK & European tour is scheduled for October – November 2026, with a key appearance live in session for Marc Riley on his BBC 6 Music show. West Coast USA dates to be announced. If You Don’t Know Me, Buy Now will be released in May 2026 on LP & CD by Agitated Records in UK & Europe and Dandy Boy Records in the USA.

**AVAILABLE ON BLUE VINYL** Exactly three years after the debut album, Life Like DEAD BOB continues to mine the archives of old and new demos that JOHN WRIGHT has created over the years, including two of the last songs demoed for NOMEANSNO with brother ROB WRIGHT. Whereas Life Like was primarily a solo project of John, since the formation of the live band the gang, FORD PIER, BYRON SLACK, KRISTY LEE AUDETTE and COLIN MACRAE take a far more active role in this record. Nothing Changes Everything is a 35 min, 8 song release that takes you on Bob's journey and keeps you wondering, “Where the f**k is this going next!” Balls to the walls and head in the clouds, you're in for a treat. With a couple years under their belts and return of SELINA MARTIN to collaborate on another song, Dead Bob takes it to the next level.

KORB - 'IV'

Formats
  • DR16 - LP
Details

**LTD HEAVY WEIGHT BLACK VINYL** Korb members Jonathan Parkes and Alec Wood have formed a prolific partnership over recent years, building up a catalogue of recordings on their own Dreamlord Recordings label under various aliases, including The Hologram People, whose Village of the Snake God on Library of the Occult remains a high point. Here the duo shifts it's attentions towards the world of Kosmische music and bubbling synths, global grooves and analogue soundscapes, all delivered so effortlessly it's hard not to fall for them. The influence of music from around the world is more than apparent on the likes of 'Dance Ritual', which tips its hat to classic Anatolian funk rock in fine style, 'Magma Fields' and opener 'Procession' could've been out of '70s Germany, and 'Levitation' is a wonderful sonic brew of Eastern funk and analogue synthesisers that deserves to be played in the hippest nightclubs with immediate effect. - Paul Osborne, Shindig Magazine

LUPO CITTA - 'INVERNO'

Formats
  • 12XU168-1 - LP
    5061041822346
Details

The title track for Lupo Città’s second LP, INVERNO (‘winter’ in Italian), was born in January 2023. Written in waking sleep at 4 am. Looking out the window at the winter world below when it's too quiet, no one is around, but anything and everything feels possible. Lupo Città wrote the songs for INVERNO by instinct: each song, in viscera, a life and personality of its own. Chris, Jenn, and Sarah each brought in songs at different stages, in different forms and moods. Some came together fast, others took long. Some songs had to be stripped, slowed down or sped up, while others were completely gutted and rebuilt. A hard coming out of post-COVID lockdown, trying to relearn to live outside of isolation. Moving from the dark of winter into light, a jarring shift, the world was changing so fast in such stark contrast between the quiet isolation we settled into with close friends and family. We couldn’t look away anymore, in the light of day, escalating political and social chaos happening outside, now rapidly closing in. While Lupo Città’s debut was melodic, energetic, world-weary, sometimes chaotic, INVERNO is out on a limb, taking a risk, and not caring at all how it turns out. INVERNO is a snapshot of the bad and good of trying to stay awake and present, fighting off the sleep of winter, the lure of time standing still, so we can create the world we want instead of trying to survive the world we're in. Writing, playing, listening to music is essential, now, more than ever, for our survival amidst uncertainty, doubt, dystopia, grief, loss, blindness, vision, and love. This is INVERNO. Lupo Città is Sarah Black (guitar, bass), Chris Brokaw (guitar + vocals) and Jenn Gori (drums + vocals).

Studio Kosmische duo Dom Keen and Jonathan Parkes collaborate with Russian saxophonist Ivan Bursov to create rolling waves of hymns to supine meditation. The gorgeous 'In Search Of Magick' and 'Eternal Dream Musick' conjure free-form sax and psychedelic ambience over undulating bass. 'As Above, So Below' finds swelling guitars celebrating a distant storm, while 'Golden Dunes' offers a shimmering sound bath. 'Esoteric Modulation' breaks the spell with echoed sax and thundering synth. Beautiful. - ELECTRONIC SOUND MAGAZINE, March 2026

WAX HEAD - 'GNAT'

Formats
  • SGR0077 - LP (COLOURED)
    5061041822438
Details

Gnat is a delve into new sounds for Wax Head. It pushes out faster, more fervent movement across each instrumental line and vocal melody; and seems specifically crafted to their live audience's demand for frenetic dance. The LP throws out elements of noise punk, kraut and psych, with each song dragging its audience into a mire of hypnotic rhythm. Written and recorded in between touring the European club and festival circuit, there are plenty of continental influences to be found across the record. Kraut inspired vocals and bass, garage rock melodies, distorted noise and fuzz all expertly fused. The nine track album will be released on Vinyl, Cassette and Digital Streaming on 01/04/2026 via Sour Grapes Records. The band on ‘Bug Doctor’: “Bug Doctor contains all the elements of ‘GNAT’ as a whole - we used synth arpeggiators alongside a blend of guitar sirens and erratic psych-punk noise; narrating a manic take on anatomical autopsy. We decided this song would be a good single from the audience's reaction on our previous tour.” The band on GNAT (album): “The album is an amalgamation of our time spent establishing ourselves in Manchester. It shows our development as musicians while still nodding towards our roots as a garage rock band. We have been playing some of these songs since our first show back in 2021. Through the years we have developed and rewritten them to fit our current style. The album is hectic, bone snappingly heavy but also melodic at moments. A true representation of all of our sides as musicians.”

MITRA MITRA - 'GLASSY TEARS'

Formats
  • FC77 - LP
Details

Next up on Feral Child is the wonderful new full length from mighty electronic duo Mitra Mitra; hailing from the UK and New Zealand- and now based in Vienna. The new record “Glassy Tears” is a split label affair: The UK & US via Feral Child and Europe via their own Micromort imprint. “Three years deep in the static, Mitra Mitra return with “Glassy Tears”, their fourth transmission, pressed on blood-red vinyl and wrapped in a matching red, reverse board sleeve: an abstract, disorienting image that hints at a Viennese lift shaft without ever fully revealing it. All suggestion, no escape. They’ve moved beyond the minimal synth tag into something more unstable—mutant dancefloor synthpop. The backbone is still there: Mahk Rumbae’s skeletal, obsessive rhythms and corroded melodies, cycling with machine precision, humming like circuitry pushed too far. Violet Candide’s voice cuts through in that signature near-spoken monotone—detached, intimate, and faintly unreal. The lyrics draw from ’60s and ’70s science fiction and the ghosts of the past, broken into fragments that feel half-remembered, half-lost. It’s more immediate, more kinetic—but no less strange. The surface invites movement, while something colder lingers underneath. “Glassy Tears” doesn’t resolve—it echoes”. A wonderful record, each with a download coupon- hugely recommended to all fans of minimal electronica, coldwave, synthpop, call it what you will…. From the early Mute sounds of The Normal, Fad Gadget, D.A.F et al to early Cabs, John Bender and early Some Bizarre etc….

We’ve just got in a handful of super limited new Feral Child 45s here; released as a clear lathe cut edition of just 99 copies, the single marks a return to action for VORDERHAUS who’s releases on Polytechnic Youth a few years back went down a storm with instant sell outs and 6music plays and repeated “Electronic sound” magazine thumbs’ up. The project of Mark Vorderhaus, (alongside his other guise as one half of Detox Twins); his catchy minimal, synth pop gems sit easily in that key era of 1978-82 in UK electronic music; the sounds of early Mute, Fad Gadget, early Depeche Mode, DAF etc etc immediately spring to mind. This double A side continues that trend, and the single is wrapped up nicely as a numbered limited edition clear lathe cut disk with numbered inserts.

Hailing from North Okanagan, British Columbia, the art-punk quartet Mock Media has increasingly become a welcome reprieve from the self-seriousness of contemporary indie rock. Armed with a whip-smart humor, the band wears its influences on its sleeve, pulling inspiration from acts as eclectic as Bruce Springsteen, The Ramones, Bad Brains and Desmond Dekker, while simultaneously sounding entirely new. Mock Media have discovered a sound all their own, and they’re excited to detail the release of their forthcoming album Rat Bastard due July 17 2026 on Meat Machine in North and South America. The band will be supporting Mac Demarco for a run of sold-out shows across the U.S. in May. Guitarist-vocalist Evan Aasen, while speaking on the album’s lead single, says, “...it is a classic The Cars-inspired rock song to play on the radio while you’re in the shop, working on some rusty metal with the radio on in the background. ‘Rat Bastard’ is a song about everyone having a little rat bastard inside them, acting too wild. A pop rock song for the whole family to enjoy."
