**ON OFF-WHITE COLOURED VINYL** - Fifth solo album from Rocket From The Crypt, Drive Like Jehu, Sultans, Hot Snakes, PLOSIVS, Night Marchers kingpin. - Features members of Hot Snakes, Delta 72, Drive Like Jehu, Jejune, Pinback, PLOSIVS and more. Navajo White is a color. It’s the color of an off white, interior, house paint. Throughout his teens into adulthood, John Reis was as a house painter by trade. The soiled walls of evacuated apartments was his canvas. Here he would cover up the residue of life’s stains with a fresh coat of the beige, human white-out that is Navajo White. Amongst the vacated, drywall chambers littered with the scant detritus of a fleeing existence is where this record began. It started as road noise, a repetitious hum of a fictional dialogue. A languageless, argument of noise that took shape as a disconnect between two people. They are both barricaded by an impenetrable surface tension that harbors the distortion of their prolonged isolation from the world beyond their self imposed exile. For all that can’t be solved or thrown away here’s a thick coat of Navajo White to cover our tracks as if to say “we were never here and this never happened.” This is the fifth Swami John Reis album and features Jason Kourkounis (Hot Snakes, Delta 72, Night Marchers) on drums as well as contributions from Rick Froberg (Hot Snakes, Drive Like Jehu, Obits) on guitar, Gar Wood (Hot Snakes, Tanner, Night Marchers) on bass, Joe Guevara (Jejune, Swami and the Bed Of Nails) on piano and keyboards and Rob Crow (Pinback, PLOSIVS) and Jacob Turnbloom (Mrs. Magician) on backing vocals. Taking musical cues from later period Wipers, the more low key Saints songs, early recordings of The Church as well as The Damned on their Black Album, Navajo White pits sentiment vs the unsentimental. Recorded by John Reis at City of Refuge, San Diego with additional recording and mixing by Ben Moore at Singing Serpent and mastered by Dave Gardner at DSG Mastering. This record is dedicated to house painters everywhere.

**AVAILABLE ON LTD HALF AND HALF MILKY CLEAR & BLOOD RED VINYL** “The Odyssey Cult Volume 3 ignites visceral fires of fuzz, pumped-up motorik, shimmering noise and hazy vocals, just in time to send up the last intoxicating smoke of summer. As for those of us still piecing our skulls back together after the ecstatic ’90s-pummel of Ethan Miller’s previous project (the zonked supergroup of Orcutt Shelley Miller), we forgive ourselves for not anticipating this, a meltdown-psych re-fusion of Ethan and Ben Flashman, two of the principals in Comets On Fire, the premier purveyors of early-aughts American guitar mayhem. “Featuring Ethan Miller (Howlin Rain, Heron Oblivion) on guitar, loops, vocals, Ben Flashman (Comets On Fire) on bass, Steve Shelley (Sonic Youth) on drums, Anthony Taibi (Carlton Melton/White Manna) on keys, Zoh Amba on sax and Brigid Dawson (OSEES), Paula Frazer (Tarnation), Inna Showalter (Magic Fig) on vocals. “Miller and company layer psychedelic murk of the highest order into a neon rock monolith, its components spanning coasts and generations of musicians. Depending what angle you look at it, Volume 3 glitters with facets reflecting all corners of sonic psychedelia, fusing the best of all post-hippy/punk eras, complete with earworms that sound equally great by the pool, on headphones, or blasting in the sled cruising down the 5, the 10, or whatever freeway of your dreams. Whether or not you’ve heard Orcutt Shelley Miller, Comets On Fire, Tarnation, or the OSEES, this LP stands out like a life buoy (or, occasionally, a shark fin) in a sea of wax.” - Tom Carter

SHANNON LAY - 'PAST THE VEIL'

"Shannon Lay’s seraphic voice and fingerpicking has long been a guiding spirit—a compassionate steward of tender hearts and minds. For the last decade, her music has tendered a retreat from one’s worries, and created a refuge out of delicate and minimalist arrangements. With her new studio album, Past the Veil, she proffers the same care and understanding, and a similar emotional timbre, but from an entirely different sonic vantage point. Rather than weaving a safe cocoon in which listeners may hide out, Past the Veil rips it apart, offering a bold invitation to move through our discomfort and uncertainty. It is the sound of rebirth. It is a chance to stand up, join together, and maybe even dance." — Erin Osmon. Co-Written and Produced by Rob Shelton at Altamira Sound in Alhambra, CA.

WARBY - 'MYSTIC POWERS'

**SIGNED ART PRINTS WITH FIRST 150 COPIES** On 28th of August art-rock and soul inspired singer & songwriter WARBY is to finally release his much anticipated debut album ‘Mystic Powers’. That same day he will also play his first solo show. Having spent a lifetime encouraging others to tour and record, WARBY is steeped in music and live touring, has run indie labels, recorded with the group R.O.C, occasionally performing live; but has never released or performed any of his own songs before now. "I was always going to sing, be a musician” says WARBY “like my Dad, but in my early twenties I was pulled further and further into the business of live music by a succession of phenomenal artists. I continued writing on and off for years, but as the thrills and spills of working with other musicians and my concert booking role expanded I could never truly find enough time to develop my ideas fully.” In 2020 as the world shut down and touring ground to a halt, a seemingly permanently busy WARBY suddenly found that he had the luxury of time on his hands. He began to work on writing songs, recording home demos of himself singing, playing guitar, bass and keyboards over programmed drums, and it soon became clear that a substantial amount of ideas and music now existed. "When it came to the writing and recording of these songs…well, what started as a relatively gentle sensation, become more insistent until it was hammering at my very being. I had no choice other than to get them down." Going into and coming out of covid proved to be very challenging times; the loss of close family and friends coupled with great stress over returning to ’normal’ life. It during this time WARBY experienced a personal revelation and the themes of ‘Mystic Powers’ explore that. "One strong theme was how life may propel you down one path rather than another, I then questioned what would happen if you had taken or took a different decision. I had this idea of a soft-determinism, where your life is mostly mapped out for you, but you have some small degree of choice. I’ve also looked hard into fear and loss and what might be available to help those in pain." One piece of unexpected salvation was offered by an unplanned visit to Birmingham Cathedral. An anxious WARBY briefly took refuge here one afternoon during a period of great turmoil. "I was gazing at the Byrne-Jones stained glass windows and was especially drawn to one called the ‘Ascension’ window. On my way out I bought a postcard of a detail of the window, a hand of benediction. I couldn’t believe how contemporary it looked, in fact it turned out that the postcard came from a painting of sections of the windows made by a local artist when the windows had been restored.” WARBY instantly knew that this image was the front cover of his as yet unrecorded album and a seemingly divine metaphor for the record; even parallel lines meet in the end. “It perfectly expressed powers that were being offered to me, that substance of which might be passed on in song. The best way to resolve my problems wasn’t to hold onto them, keep them in, or to try and think my way through them. I needed to let them go." ‘Mystic Powers’ was produced by James Knight, who gave WARBY space to work up the arrangements in his studio located in a roomy basement in Stoke Newington. WARBY called upon his friends Mal Troon (Jim Jones, Sea Power) on lead guitar and Patrick Nicholson (R.O.C, Mark Eitzel) on piano and and the tight rhythm section of Adam Betts (Pulp, Dave Gilmour) on drums and Dan Drury (Jarvis Cocker, James Taylor Quartet) on bass. Prior to recording, WARBY played James and the band a selection of songs to inspire them including Harry Nilsson, The Isley Brothers, Gene Clark and The Stylistics and together they recorded the 13 songs that make up the album.

BRAIN PILLS - 'GOATSHEAD II'

Details

**Limited blue vinyl pressing packaged with OBI strip** An heady blast of primitive new rock action from Mike Vest’ s Brain Pills project. Delivering a pummelling akin to many of his aforementioned groups, but now with a more urgent dishing out of the riffs and clamour. Hot on the heels of the well received Brain Pills - Goatshead LP is the cunningly titled Goatshead II - the line up is the same: Mike Vest is a one man musical tour de force known for his extensive work with such bands as Bong, Drunk in Hell, 11 Paranoias, Blown Out and Mienakunaru to name a few releasing records on many underground labels such as Riot Season, Ritual Productions and Cardinal Fuzz etc For Brain Pills Mike has teamed up with Adam Stone from the excellent Poundland on vocals and Nick Raybould from Thought Bubble on drums and art – the result is very impressive indeed – primitive but deadly drums, pulverizingly heavy riffs – lots of fuzz and distortion going on coupled with Adam Stones demented and haunting vocal style all topped off by the excellent and disturbing artwork courtesy of Nick Raybould. Could Goatshead have been a double LP - Of course - but Mike opted for 2 stand alone 12" records - and we were happy to accomodate The record has again been mastered for this vinyl release by crust punk legend Bri Doom, in house engineer for Creepy Crawl, known for his work with Sore Throat, Doom, Lazarus Blackstar and most recently with the excellent Disciple BC - the sound is massive, just what you would expect.
