King Buffalo return from a four year writing period full of thunder. Doomsayer finds the Rochester, New York power trio reinvented, more confident and explorative than ever before while retaining the core of their heavy psych rock sound. In the years following the release of the final installment of their "pandemic trio" - a series of records made in quick succession in the early 2020s - King Buffalo began work building their own full-fledged recording studio. For such a prolific band, the years long wait for a new record was uncharacteristic, but their return demonstrates the fruits of their labor. Doomsayer showcases some of the band's heaviest work, but also some of the most innovative. Guitarist / singer Sean Roa doubles down on his signature tight riffing style while also showing a growing interest in blues and space rock. Synthesizers pulse in lockstep with bassist Dan Reynolds and drummer Scott Donaldson, forming one of the tightest rhythm groups in psych rock. The band's heavy kraut-psych-stoner style is undeniably their own and has been honed with each release. “Doomsayer originated in early 2026,” says Roa, “out of many hours of jam sessions in our new studio space, playing around and seeing where it took us. We didn’t really have an end goal in mind of what we were going for. We were simply exploring ideas and seeing what ended up speaking to us the most. So much has happened, both as a band and in our personal lives since our last record, that ended up becoming the inspiration to many of the lyrics on Doomsayer. I think as a result, this is some of our most upfront, direct and riff-driven work to date. We are incredibly proud of it, and can’t wait for it to get out into the world.”

Brand new album from Dreamlord Recordings’ founders Jonathan Parkes and Alec Wood collective Arboria, We’ve borrowed some words from Mark Anderson’s Static Sounds Club review of the album below, they capture the album perfectly: Dreamlord Recordings has become a trusted doorway into records that take you on a journey. Arboria return with Arboria III, and Messers Parkes and Wood are ready to open that door one more time. Its eleven pieces form a woodland tale that begins at sunrise, passes through hidden gardens and moonlit rites, then settles into sleep with the promise of another morning close by. Across Arboria III, Arboria use a modest group of instruments to tell a story with remarkable clarity. Acoustic guitar keeps the earth beneath our feet, woodwind gives movement to birds, moonlight and hidden plants, brass carries fellowship and celebration, while bass leads the animals through the darker parts of the forest. Every track passes its scene naturally to the next, which gives the album the flow of a tale spoken aloud beside a fire. The influence of Dreamlord Recordings can be felt in its willingness to let music open an imagined place, yet Arboria give that idea their own pastoral character. This is a record for headphones, low light and the kind of evening where your thoughts need somewhere kinder to rest. By the time the swan touches down, Arboria III has taken root somewhere deep in your memory Players on the records are: Personnel: ALEC WOOD - ACOUSTIC GUITAR, RAINSTICK AND GUIRO acoustic guitar on all tracks guiro on track b4 rain stick on tracks a4, b3 JONATHAN PARKES - GUITAR, BASS, ELECTRIC PIANO, SYNTHS, STRINGS, DRUMS AND PERCUSSION plays on all tracks BEN CROSSLAND - PIANO, ELECTRIC PIANO AND SYNTH piano on tracks a1, a2, a5, b1, b2 synth on tracks a1, b6 PHIL WILKINS - TRUMPET, FLUGEL HORN, BARITONE AND TUBA flugel & trumpet on tracks a2, b4 baritone on tracks b2, b6 flugel & tuba on track a5 flugel, trumpet & tuba on track b6 IVAN BURSOV - SAXOPHONE plays on tracks a1 & b3 DOM KEEN - SYNTHS plays on tracks b5 & b6 GIANNI CARLIN - FLUTE plays on track b1
