Following on from Olafur Arnalds' critically acclaimed dance score 'Dyad 1909' (2009) for the internationally renowned choreographer Wayne McGregor, now come two dance pieces in the shape of 'Two Songs For Dance'. It will be released as a 1000 copies Ltd. Edition 7" Vinyl including High Quality Download on August 13th via Erased Tapes. This limited edition single captures two exciting tracks for two dance projects. The first 'Endalaus II' was created for 'Endalaus' by Norwegian Choreographer Alan Lucien ?yen, commissioned and performed by the Iceland Dance company. Fans will recognise the track as one of the highlights from ?lafur's recent live shows, creating an emotional punch against the classical strings. 'For Teda', the second song is for London-based company Neon Dance and part of choreographer Adrienne Hart's on-going project 'Archived'it'. It brings forward a new concept in online interaction by allowing anyone to create their own version of 'Dance on Steps', a dance film featuring dance and mime student Teda de Moor from 1934. Born in the suburban Icelandic town of Mosfellsb?r, a few kilometers outside of Reykjav?k, the 25-year old composer has always enjoyed pushing boundaries with both his studio work and his live-shows. Through relentless touring and determination this young artist has steadily gained recognition worldwide since his 2007 debut Eulogy for Evolution. ?lafur Arnalds' second full-length album ...and they have escaped the weight of darkness, continues his mission to lure an indie-generation of pop and rock fans into an emotive world of beguiling electronic chamber music and delicate classical arrangements. After recently having supported Ryuichi Sakamoto throughout Germany, ?lafur will return to London as part of the 'Erased Tapes 5th Anniversary Tour' on October 18, 2012.
