Rayland Baxter’s music is at once otherworldly and down to earth, steeped in singer/songwriters such as Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan. Alternatively, Dylan LeBlanc arranges a moody and earnest atmosphere that characterizes the high-highs and low-lows of 20-something life. Their collective style falls closest to Cohen’s Tennessee cabin sessions, a wounded hopeful tone that seems borne out of desires not met. Third Man Records is proud to release the first three sessions from our partnership with the good people who helm Luck Reunion. Held this past September during Americana Week, Third Man and Luck partnered to bring together both Americana legends and newcomers. The goal was to share in the artists’ mutual appreciation for roots based music and see what they could create in a spontaneous situation, a collaborative but immediate live-recording atmosphere.
